Your portrait Process begins with the End in mind

I wanted to give you a little more depth into how your portraiture experience will develop over time.

If you’ve never commissioned a professional photographer before, it can feel a bit intimidating.

Let this quick overview help you.

STEP 1 –Research, Enquire & DOWNLOAD

Have a little look around on my website, get familiar with my style and work. Head to the FAQ page, or behind the lens page to get to know me a little better.

I’ve also prepared an awesome little e-book for you to have a look through, “The Portrait Preparation Guide”.  Just click on the link and follow the prompts and it will be in your inbox in two shakes of a lambs tail.

It’s full of beautiful images, lots of inspiration and lots of useful tips and hints on how to prepare for your photographic experience and get the most out of your images.

STEP 2 – BOOK YOUR SESSION

Here you have two options: You can book your session via the phone with me or you can head over to the gift certificate page and choose your preferred session. Once the retainer is received, I’ll give you a call in next few days to look at our diaries and find the best session time for you.

Have a look through the information about each session on the session information page, and of course check out all the portfolios on the portfolio page. Sessions start from $245. The Session Types Page will give your more information.

STEP 3 – BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Again have a little look around the website, especially the portfolio pages as this will give you a feel for the sort of clothing that works well and the type of imagery we’ll produce. Before your session I will check in and answer any questions you might have, be it your wardrobe or anything else. I am here to make this a really smooth, easy, memorable experience for you.

Consider what you would like to do in your home when it comes to printed imagery and wall art. My neutral style compliments most decors, but we will discuss the end product in detail so we have an idea about what we want to create during the session.

Have another look through the “Portrait Preparation Guide”, that you will/have received a few days before your session.

STEP 4 – YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION

Yay! This is where the fun really starts. But don’t worry, it’s very relaxed and we have plenty of time.

All sessions are baby-led. This means the wellbeing of your newborn is the priority throughout the session and we follow their cues about comfort and feeding. We can play and discover and we can chat and have a coffee or two. I’ll “direct” your session but there is nothing to worry about, no awkward posing. Most of the time my families just need a little bit of direction and then the magic happens.

Just before you leave, we’ll go through some of the products, wall art samples and albums and confirm a date for your Image Selection Session.

STEP 5 – IMAGE SELECTIONS

About 2 weeks after your portrait session, we’ll meet at the studio for you to view all the images we created together.

I’ll help you choose your favourite images and advise on what works best to create your ideas from step 3. Together we’ll create something amazing for your home.

All of your artwork comes finished and ready for display, with a range of products to suit everyone’s style and budget.Products start from $165. The Finished Products page will give you more information.

STEP 6 – COLLECTION

Your finished wall art, prints and albums will be ready to be collected from the studio approximately 4-6 weeks after your Image Selection Session.

The artwork is made with the highest quality products available to the photographic industry and all pieces come with a lifetime guarantee.

As soon as the images are ready to be collected I’ll call you to arrange collection or delivery.
